PERSONAL "A Rose for Emily" by William Faulkner

I'm a man who likes a good detailed story flowing with words too intelligent for one's own good but this story put me to sleep.  It seemed whiney and petty.  It was a turn of the century Dr. Phil episode.  I'm not a huge fan of Faulkner's work and he isn't winning me over with this one either.  While I enjoy the way he writes I just can't get into what he is writing about.  I did learn a number of new words, so I guess it didn't turn out all bad.
