When I hear the word poetry I first think, "boring, snooze-fest, someone please hand me my box set of Die Hard movies!" Then I remember that Shel Silverstein writes poetry. I remember Beowolf is a poem. I remember that music is poetry.
Poetry gets a bad wrap sometimes. It has this stigma of being tiresome and somewhat girly yet it is anything but. Poetry is peace and war. It is love and hate. To me, it is a literature portrait of not only our lives but also our imaginations.
